Tracy,

I think you would have problems with QUICK applications that were set up to
use block mode. QUICK has two different screen modes. The first is
non-block mode with which you can use several different types of "dumb"
terminals and emulators. The second uses the block mode capabilities of HP
terminals.

Au contraire, for QUICK screens at least. Probably buried deep in your
HP3000 Powerhouse UDC, is some flag that defaults to an HP700/92 terminal
or
similar. Since many HP3000 sites have been using HP emulators and
regular terminals for years they may have not noticed it.

Then set the user that uses the default emulator in Windows to specify
VT100 or VT102 emulation. Then have them invoke the Powerhouse UDC and
override the HP flag to be a VT100 or VT102 flag and it works perfectly.
Or at worst you can disable the flag in the UDC so Quick asks you what
kind of terminal you are using. Enter Question marks and you're given a
list of what is acceptable.

I admit you're stuck when using VPLUS screens.)
