The HP-supplied Samba on 6.5 does not support encrypted passwords, so you still
need to use the same Windows registry workarounds to tell Windows to try and
establish connections with UNENCRYPTED passwords.  The not-supported-by-HP
version of Samba available from www.sambaix.com DOES support encrypted
passwords.

Depending on how you're using Samba, you may need to add PM capability to the
Samba user as described at:
