Hi folks,
I have an interesting question. I have a user looking for a lite easy to use palm top that would allow him to dial into our HP3000 and run some internal reporting programs. In looking at a product like the HP620lx it would provide great functionality for everything but connecting to the 3000. It supports TTY or VT-100 but will not act like a 700/92 or a 2392A. Because the applications they will be running use HP escape sequences for the 2392A the TTY or VT-100 are a no go.

Just as a side issue I called the technical support for palm tops -- they never heard of a HP3000 a 2392A or products like Reflection or MS92 -- par for the course for HP these days. I think it is dumb that they support a DEC terminal mode and ignore their own products and market.

Their suggestion was to use a 200LX which runs dos and find and old terminal emulation program written for dos.

Anybody got any suggestions.
