Hello Friends:

>I found this while searching IBM's website for hp 3000:

If you follow that analyst's math, nobody is staying on the HP 3000.
That's even harder to believe -- though not by much -- than the
assumption that half of the 3000 customers are buying HP's Unix. But
Gartner has always clung fast to HP's assumptions about the 3000. For
independent thinking, you'll have to look elsewhere.

Meanwhile, IBM's chief iSeries scientist said at the latest COMMON
conference that "the HP 3000 is going away because HP didn't invest
in the product." We'll have a report on our day-trip to the COMMON
show in our November issue. Very interesting day -- it felt like the
3000's high water of 1992 at the COMMON show in Denver, a venue full
of volunteers instead of paid staff. We enjoyed full press access to
the vendor in roundtables, too.
