Friends don’t let friends use the “inter” option. Also, try maxtapebuf, you may see some benefit.
Other than that, I am not sure what’s causing the crash.

The backup job completed successfully and logged out. It was after
this point that the system halted.
We are up and running following a complete power cycle and restart.
But I need to discover what is causing this problem.
