5.0 is not installed here yet, but I have been following all the interesting
posix messages. What I get from the traffic is that things are a little more
complicated in the land of posix then the land of mpe. This is to be
expected since we are all more familiar with mpe than posix(unix) so I am
not daunted by the comments. However, I am confused about some things and
was wondering if someone could elaborate on the following:

1. can I run a standard mpe nm program that I built using standard mpe
compilers (cobol, pascal, etc) when I am under the posix shell? IOW, can I use
the standard mpe cobol to create cgi programs that are called by the ncsa
http server which I assume is running under posix.

2. is 'c' the only language that 'plays' in the posix world?

I guess what I don't fully appreciate or understand is how the posix/mpe
worlds coexist or interact together when it comes to running existing
programs or building new ones for the land of posix.

Thanks!
