Wirt, you are an idiot.

-----------------------

Way back when I worked as a volunteer for AoL, on their Neverwinter
Nights multiplayer game, I handled quite a bit of the game's tech
support. This of course meant dealing with a range of personalities,
from clueless to insulting, on a daily basis.

The manager of the area taught me an important lesson that has served me
well over the years. No matter what you are thinking about the person on
the other end of the email or chat screen, always remember to 'smile
from your wrists down'. You are free to think somene is an idiot, but
there is never an excuse to actually type it out and click send.

Yes I also found Wirt's comment amusing and hypocritical. But posting a
direct insult like that does not make you look good or him look bad. I
disagree with much of Wirt's current political philosophy, and suspect
that much of his shift leftward over the years is due to a desperate
need to fit into the academic community he appears to frequent, I still
see no need to descend to that level.

Remember, this is a small community that Wirt has provided much value
to. So lighten up a bit and try not to take some of the more rediculous
posts so seriously.
