Ron,
You need to attach a terminal (700/92) with the appropriate cable to the
service port(s) on the array. The terminal has to be set to the proper
emulation (VT100?). Then you can access the array and view/change the RAID
mode.
A simple check is to compare the size of your disk LDEVs to the size of the
disk modules in the array. RAID-1 would yield one 18GB LDEV if two 18GB
physical drives were bound together. RAID-5 would yield a ~54GB LDEV if four
18GB physical drives were bound together.
Use RAID-1 for any "production" data, as you will pay a big performance hit
with RAID-5.
I agree with the comments about an I/O problem hiding behind a CPU problem,
especially now that you are running more, faster CPUs.
Regards,

When I installed the two 18 gig drives I get 36 gig (or close to that) added
to system. I think the other drives may be configured as RAID. How do I
tell?
Thanks
