Turkey, one of the members of "The Coalition of the Willing," has refused an
offer of 26 billion dollars to let the US use their country to launch an
attack on Iraq.

I know this goes against the "tough guy" approach to diplomacy being
practiced by this regime but has anyone offered Saddam Hussein 26 billion
dollars to leave Iraq? He may not take it but then again he may. Offer him
50 billion and it still would be a bargain.

If you think this would set a bad precedent because other dictators may want
the same deal, give to them too, I say. Send them off to some island and
ship in any creature comfort they want, except weapons. Maybe let in some of
their army or criminals from other countries so they would have somebody to
oppress and torture. For real fun put two dictators on the same island and
watch them go at it. The money from the cable rights alone could solve world
hunger, the AIDS epidemic and put a chicken in every pot. (Or pot in every
chicken if you are so inclined.) The possibilities abound.
