I am having a problem with Tracert. Any time I try a trace, regardless
of the destination, I get a series of asterisks for each hop address, up
to the maximum number of hops specified. Each response takes an
excruciatingly long time, indicating a timeout of some kind, I assume.
I have historically been able to do tracert from this machine, but I
have seen this symptom on occasion before. Unfortunately, I don't know
what causes it to stop working, nor what causes it to become functional
again. Any suggestions?
Example:
:tracert.prvxl.telesup
Enter Host Name or IP addr[Press Return to exit]:www.hp.com
Resolving IP Address.....
Enter the number of hops[min=1,max=60]:10
Traceroute to www.hp.com,hops=10
To TERMINATE Press CTRL-Y
