     I believe it is the Paintjet XL driver that people have had success
     with under Windows...Have not tried it personally.

First, no need to be so formal, Don will do just fine :-)

Now, as to your question.  Getting the printers connected is no problem.
For a 25-pin COM port, use a 13242G cable.  For a 9-pin COM port, use a
24542G.  these are both HP standard parts.  The 13242G may have been
repalced with another number, but giving HP that number should get you
what you want.

That was the easy part.  Now you need drivers.   I have heard that a
driver exists, but I'm not sure what it is, or where to find it.  If you
_do_ find one, it should work for both printers, I believe.  I am going
to post this to the HP3000-L/comp.sys.hp.mpe to see if there is any help
there.

How about it, gang?  Have I led him astray, and/or can any of you shed
some more light on this?  I seem to recall seeing this once before...
