Maine, not Alaska is the eastern most place in the US.

Using the definition given for Alaska, then California
could be east of the East Coast.  Sure if you go far enough.
But if you take a stand in the middle of the USA, Maine is
the furthest east that you can reach on land.

The answer given for Alaska is only correct if you are attending
in Greenwich and are counting longtitudes.
