A while back I posed a question to this list to see if there was a way to
have a remote version of the DTC Manager software running that would
give real-time updates to key users, such as our network support people.
You are currently able to sign on remotely and get a static picture of the
DTCs, but you are not able to see the status as it changes dynamically.
The well advised opinion of others on this list was to not run multiple
copies of the DTC Manager, as a conflict could result over which one is to
perform a download when one is requested.

I found a way around this problem, using Reachout software for networks.
This allows me to view whatever is occurring on the remote PC real time. I
am also able to manage the DTCs, including downloading.

This only works on Openview DTC Manager 14.3, using Reachout for Windows
network version. Reachout for DOS actually gives you more control (since
you can exit windows on the remote PC) but the stripped down version of FTP
that HP supplied makes this almost impossible to install.
