ok....true confession time.

when i first asked about how folks were making their slt's....i was pretty sure of the answers. we've discussed this before and we came to the conclusion that it's a 'good thing' for an slt to have things (like telesup) added. i was just checking, because....

i've run into a problem with a program called 'sltcopy' (re-read mike hornsby's post!) and the solution i was offered was to *not* add anything extra to my slt's. just make a basic slt and rely on additional backups to get <whatever> files you need.

i mulled on that reply for a bit...(sneakily) checked with y'all....and responded that the 'extras' being added were there for a good reason...

so...thank you for you input. i just wanted to confirm i was too far out in left field :-) - d

You use CHECKSLT.MPEXL.TELESUP with a version of the program that matches
the MPE version of the SLT you are testing.

How do you test SLT's ? Is it not just a validate process or do you
actually test the tapes on test HP3000 hardware?
