Thanks...

I am only one here who knows where to change those things and it wasn't me....but it may be a gateway thing...
We changed connection route a while ago, and while we checked users at each end could log on to the other system, we may not have used ftp for a while on 3000->3000 basis.

Now I can ping in both directions ok. First ftp attempt failed with an error 9, but second try worked ok...very odd.

Regards,

John Pitman

What is the subnet mask on each machine

my guess is you have 255.255.0.0 on one and 255.255.255.0 on t'other

Would need 255.255.0.0 on both/all to be able to chat.

How many networks configured on each?

Try:
netcontrol net=xxxx;update=internet
where xxx= name of the LAN
