I have noticed from times past that the 3000's NIC always reported some
level of discards. I had written this off to Novell or Appletalk on the
interface, but now the subnet is IP-only.
For example:

Where are the "Recv dropped: addr" frames? In a typical SNMP MIB it is
reported as discards and blowing our monitor's mind :-)
