James,
Are you running off a transceiver on the AUI port or are you using the BNC connector?
The transceiver is the preferred option.

I have a 918/LX that I believe is experiencing some sort of network
problem. The symptoms are these:
Unresponsive network logins via NS/VT.
Very slow response for online applications running on terminal
emulation programs connected to HP3000 via network.
Very intermittent (1 every 2-3 secs) collision lights on network
port connected to HP3000 and not visible on any other ports.
(18/LX NIC card Nic/Net confidence light flashing amber very
intermittently (also 1-3 sec. apart).
Console terminal, having a direct serial interface, does not appear
to have any response problems when running system management
programs.
Is this possibly a hardware fault? Is there a place that I can look
to see if it is or not.
As the matter is urgent the favour of a directly copy of any reply
is requested.
Sincerely,
