I have a rather odd request that I think just might be answered here
on the list. My daughter is having a party and she has asked me to
make some novelty money for it. I have Corel Draw 12 and I must
say my first attempts at making a banknote are rather pathetic.
Does anyone here have any suggestions as to where I can get
some guidance on how to make a realistic looking money bill using
Corel Draw or similar vector based drawing package?

I thought to use my daughter's cat as the image on the bill, but it still
looks like a photo rather than an engraving. Equally, I do not seem
to have the skill to produce the embellishments and flourishes often
found on a banknote.

There is also the question of paper. I would have this stuff look and
feel as authentic as possible without going to an incredible expense.
I have a HPLJ4 with duplex attachment and while I see no real need
to print in colour I concede that white is not the best choice for the
paper. Insofar as dimensions are concerned, I figure that a width to
height ratio of 5.5" to 2.5" would look about right, yielding six bills per
page.

Any suggestions as to what to use or where to look. The images on
the net are wonderful for ideas, but useless for reproduction. I do
not want this stuff looking or feeling like a cheap photocopy but I
have no intentions of passing bogus money drawn on the Irrational
Bank of Natasha either.

Regards,
Jim
