We introduced dates with century in PowerHouse 5.01 back around 86.
Quite a few people jumped on it because they wanted to project dates
(such as assets, policies) by 20+years and an insurance company in
the UK wanted pre-1900 dates for shipping info.
 
I think Richard Kessler submitted a paper at the last CIUG on dates
and the yr 2000 which may also be archived on Compuserve (GO COGNOS)
and the PowerHouse list-serv.
