Hello everyone,
Please excuse the rookie question, but I can't figure out what's going on.
I've downloaded the JDK 1.1.7 from the Jazz web server.
The installation notes say to issue the command:
shell/iX> tar -xovpf JDK117.web60.tar
and that the result should be the extraction of the following three files:
/JAVA/INSTALL/JDK117B.vv.tar.Z (where vv=55 or 60)
/JAVA/INSTALL/README
/JAVA/INSTALL/JINSTJDK
When I do this on my system, the result is:
tar: blocksize = 20
x /JAVA/INSTALL/JDK117B.60.tar.Z, 26129403 bytes, 51034 tape blocks
1101 blocks
If you want to go on, type device/file name when ready
with no files extracted. Perhaps I'm being dense, but I don't know what
device/file name I'm supposed to enter.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Jim Kanihan
