Try changing parity to none, and do not check parity. If you don't have a
manual, this won't be fun.
Alternatively, you can try reconfiguring the print on the HP3000 to use
printer type 19, which works fine with odd parity.
Odd parity will only work for printer types 19 and 21. I can't tell what
printer type you are using (It shows as ??).
Meanwhile, I'll search for my manual.
