The TCP/IP network printing solution will provide the ability to print
MPE spoolfiles to a LAN-connected printer using a TCP/IP network
connection through a JetDirect card or JetDirect EX external box.  Page
level recovery will be supported if the printer supports bidirectional
communication and PJL (Printer Job Language).  Only spooled printing will
be supported.  Environment and set-up files will also be supported.
The network printers can be managed through the normal MPE spooler
commands.  A new configuration file which contains both global and LDEV
specific information, such as a printer's network (IP) address or domain
name is required.
 
This functionality will be available as part of FOS on MPE/iX release
5.5, currently scheduled for summer of 1996.

NOTE: Page level recovery is supported with PJL printers connected via
      a HP JetDirect EX box only.  This functionality may not work with
      print servers from other vendors.
