Wirt Atmar wrote
| Richard Feynman was fond of saying, "Innovation is hard." But persistence
and
| stubbornness and faith are all part of innovation -- and always have
been.
|
| The "heroes (greater than the men we know)" are often no more than people
who
| simply never took "No" for an answer.
Another critical factor for innovation is creativity. One study showed
that people considered creative tended to think through more ideas, were
willing to intertain wilder ideas, and let questions "percolate" longer
than most people. So in some ways we come around to persistence again.
There is an excellent book on how to improve creativity in organizations
titled:
"Creativity & Innovation in Information Systems Organizations"
by J. Daniel Couger - Director, Center for Research on Creativity,
U of Colorado at Colorado Springs
Boyd & Fraser, 1996
