Hi Paul :)
First, of all both responses by you are excellent and accurate.

Second, we all need to remember that software is owned/leased (depending
on the EULA) and therefore cannot just be copied and given away.

Could someone tho' give me a clarification concerning HP's EULA and
their view with reference to HP 3000's and related FOS, Utility Software
and such...

I donated away (to Goodwill) an old 922lx with all related materials
(FOS tapes, Utility software tapes and third party tapes). I removed the
data from the drives by removing the platters... such a lovely noise they
make in the wind as windchimes...

Would someone purchasing this HP 3k be in violation of the usage
agreements and licenses from HP? I kept nothing from this box... and
destroyed any user data... which the law requires me to... DAT Tapes
shatter nicely when hit by small arms fire :) hehe

Thanks,
Art

This is my response to the original request by Brian.

Below is his very unprofessional answer. This list was founded on the
foundation of mutual respect and shared information on the HP 3000
platform.
To get an answer back like this means I will never answer another question
by Brian. To ask another member of this list to violate their license
agreement with HP on any software subsystem is criminal. It's a shame we
have a member of this list who has lowered himself to this level to make
such a request and a negative response of this nature. The platform is not
dead to a lot of customers who are planning to homestead for some time in
the future. They will need technical help that the experts on this list
can
provide. This kind of impolite response will not help keep these experts as
members of this list.

Who the hell cares anymore. It's a dead platform. Don't write to me again,
you moron.
