The question was a follow-up to a Unix question. Someone asked about Y2k
support for HP-UX 9.x. The answer had two parts: (1) HP will allow 9.x users
to update to 10.x even if they aren't on support; it sounded to me like they
can get the update for free; (2) HP will provide lots of help to assist users
in updating from 9.x to 10.x.
Harry Sterling was giving the MPE equivelent answer to part one, which is
that HP is providing very aggressive new pricing for support (I don't know if
that include "free" 5.5pp4, though).
To answer the second part: MPE users don't need the kind of help that HP-UX
users need. Those of us who have "updated" an HP-UX system from 9.x to 10.x
know what a *major* conversion project that is (*far* worse than going from
MPE/V to MPE/iX, for example). MPE updates *never* require that kind of huge
effort.
