I believe I have one 2382A as well.  I'll have to fire it up and see if it works.

My console is a HP 2382A, which is about half the size of a 700/9X Terminal
and fits in the small space that I have available.   It works just fine
after no telling
how many years of abuse (I've had it for 8 years,  but it was "old" when I
received it as a gift from my good friend Michel "HotKey" Kohon.  Or maybe
it was payment for an overdue consulting bill  .....................
