A quote from our ISP:
"One of our servers was receiving 4-5 thousand viruses a day in December
(Sober-U), greylisting was implemented and it has gone down to 45 per
day!! Very impressive and the load on that server has gone right down
where it was getting quite high as the viruses all seemed to come at one
point in the day.".
They will soon be providing it as an option to their customers and we
are looking at taking it for Exchange server.
Our e3000, which uses sendmail 8.13.1, and currently only sends emails
(looking at receiving emails in the future) uses a different route to
talk to the outside world. This route would not have access to our ISP's
greylisting option.
Has anybody implemented greylisting on their e3000?
How easy was it to install?
What effect did it have on performance/reliability?
Enquiring minds would like to know.
