We frequently see questions from individuals new to our environment, some of
which ask for help beginning to learn our platform. We generally welcome
them, and the answers tend to be somewhat standard, explaining HELP and its
functions and where to access documentation and even training.

I need to become familiar enough with the AS/400 (Come to the dark side,
Luke...) to evaluate whether it constitutes a platform that I would be
willing to support, or serve as a backup contact. At least I should also get
to show someone else our 3000s... I have access to an AS/400, and can get
such ids as are sufficient for accessing help resources on it, whatever they
are like. What are they like? I realize that IBM has manuals on line as well
as on CD. Are there 'newbie' manuals available for it? Other web resources?
