Hello Friends:

Gary Jackson asks:

>Is there going to be an Express 5 release for 5.5 or is 6.0 the next OS
>release on the horizon?

We hear there will be an MPE/iX 5.5 Express 5 release, sometime early in
the summer. It's the likely release vehicle for a new version of
TurboIMAGE, one that fixes a bug in DDX that can destroy data in some
cases. In many other ways you'll be able to think of Express 5 as an early
6.0, since nearly all it is likely to lack is DNS, Java and Samba --
software which is already available but just a few more months shy of HP's
official support. 6.0 will add multiple independent job queues, a feature
that hasn't surfaced on any PowerPatch or Express release up to now.
