actually   seen  them  for even less that   that.   the $100 ones  
generally had  stuff  with them  and were known to  work!  
 
We are always looking  for  dead ones  for   various  'tools of the 
journalists'  history  displays we   put  together.  and  for that... broken is  
fine as they are  static  displays.  They just have to look good on the 
outside!
