It should be EST5EDT, period, and doesn't change to my knowledge.  The
'EST5' is used to give the standard timezone and GMT offset when
formatting times, e.g., 12:23 PM EST.  If you have a value following
the offset, it is used as the daylight savings time 'timezone' in
formatted output, e.g., 12:23 PM EDT.
