Gentle HP 3000 List readers,

At the upcoming HP World conference, in the HICOMP booth, we will be showing,
amongst other systems, an HP 3000 writing to, and controlling directly, a
robotic library. Our library control module, HIJACC, is now available on MPE.
The MPE system can now have a DLT or a DDS library, from HP, ATL, ADIC,
StorageTek or myriad other vendors, directly attached to it and be able to
completely control it (random mode) without any other system being involved.
With HIJACC you can also share libraries with other systems, such as MPE,
UNIX, NT, Linux and Novell.

HIJACC is available right now for MPE, UNIX, NT and Linux and interfaces with
Hiback on the listed platforms to provide a total lights out backup operation,
for one system or the enterprise.

HIBACK TX for MPE has always supported DLT devices with the FASTSEARCH feature
and can append multiple backups on the same tape and now with the advent of
HIJACC for MPE, it can control the entire library by itself. Imagine your 3000
with a large StorageTek or ADIC library with 10 drives and 1300 slots! Or how
about that neat HP 7448, with 4 DLT7000 drives and 48 slots.

HIBACK TX is also a backup server, which means it can receive backups from
other nodes and other platforms and store these backups on the library, which
it now controls totally.

Kind regards,

Denys. . .
