It will connect to the 50-pin adapter; SCSI bus devices start out as 8-bit
non-fast devices, and negotiate up from there, so they'll automatically work
with slower/narrower adapters and vice versa.

Damfino. I'd run ODE/MAPPER and see if it sees the device. If so, configure
it in :SYSGEN as something reasonable--look in IODFAULT.PUB.SYS for SCSI
drives of similar capacity and use one (which is not actually necessary,
since the system really only recognizes one kind of SCSI device for the
narrow SE adapter, but it's quicker than doing it manually). Some obvious
issues:
 1) The drive needs to be its own 1-member volume set
 2) Be sure to VSCLOSE (and maybe DOWN) the device before changing media
 3) Probably others

As to the 3000 recognizing the drive as removable, I wouldn't bet on it; I
suspect you'll have to manage the dismount/change/mount stuff manually.
