Hi Friends,
I'm trying to setup the following configuration :
HPe3000 A500 (1-way likely), 4 I/O slots
2 A6795A FC2 Fibre Channel boards
No internal disks
MPE/iX 7.5, possibly PP1 (other patches may be needed)
Hooked to a SAN by each of the FC board, each FC card to a different F8b
switch
2 VA7100s hooked to the same SAN
Proposed configuration :
System volume set on remote (other 'end' of the SAN) VA7100, secured by Raid
0/1 (already existing redundancy group on the VA7100, disks to be added for
extra space). Needs boot support (obviously), and needs a way to configure
the LDEV 1 on the VA7100 BEFORE installing.
User volume set secured by disk mirroring, one half of the mirrored set on
each VA7100 (one in the local room, the other one in the remote room)
Current CV-SDM : 1.04 (1.06 may be needed)
Current VA7100 firmware : HP15 (HP18 may be needed)
What do you think ? Is the configuration workable ? Can it be supported by
HP ? Can it be included into an SCS (Storage Critical Service) type of
contract (customer already has the service) ? Any better design ideas ?
Suggestions ?
If any help, I will be able to provide a Visio drawing that better explains
the configuration.
TIA,
Christian Lheureux
