Robert,

Thanks for kick starting my brain with the CONTINUE, I was overthinking the problem. Adding the CONTINUE allowed the command to display the STOREJCW and I could see what was happening and reduce the store to disc files to just one to handle the limited number to sets to be stored.
Thanks again to all who replied.

John,

If you put a !CONTINUE command immediately before your !STORE command
(ensure that there is not a blank line between them) then the job will
not be aborted and flushed.

Subject: [HP3000-L] Problem with TurboStore and store to disc

Fellow Listers,

I'm having a problem with a store job that does an incremental store to
disc of the datasets that are identified as having been modifed during
the day. Because of the size of the databases involved, I have multiple
store to disc files allocated which if fine if enough datasets are
identified to be stored. However during a day of light activity, I get
the following in the SYSLIST:

12 STORING TO DISC FILE "/BACKUP/DLYINCRM/OPT1.1.1"
13 STORING TO DISC FILE "/BACKUP/DLYINCRM/OPT2.2.1"
14 STORING TO DISC FILE "/BACKUP/DLYINCRM/OPT3.3.1"
15 STORING TO DISC FILE "/BACKUP/DLYINCRM/OPT4.4.1"
16 TOO FEW FILES (20) WERE FOUND TO BE DISTRIBUTED ACROSS 4 STORE
17 SETS (S/R 1714)

and the job aborts as follows:

109 (1)
110 STORE ^ODBSETS.STOREJOB;;COMPRESS=HIGH;ONLINE=START;PROGRESS=5;
111 STORE aborted because of error. (CIERR 1090)
112 REMAINDER OF JOB FLUSHED.
113 CPU sec. = 6. elapsed min. = 1. THU, JAN 31, 2008, 6:32 PM.

My problem is that I can't seem to trap the error in the job before it
aborts and take some other appropriate action such as only using one std
file. Any suggestions on how I can handle this would be greatly
appreciated and thanks in advance to all.
