NIO describes the system's adherence to a certain level of the
precision architecture specifications. Your system is an NIO system
(as are all NOVA (9x7) systems, 9x8 systems (excluding the 948),

This patch is for ALINK (that means fiberlink) drives only and so it
would have no affect or bearing on your problem with a SCSI device.

Pretty straightforward. Just be sure to follow the instructions to the
letter and investigate thoroughly any warnings or errors you get. If
you are not sure what to do if you get one (warning or error), STOP and
call the RC.
