FTP reply code 426 is +ACI-Connection trouble, closed+ADs- transfer aborted.+ACI- +ACI-Address in use+ACI- is, among other things, a socket error indicating that the application tried to bind() the socket to a port number which is already in use by something else, or was in use by something that hasn't finished closing the socket (socket state +AD0- CLOSE+AF8-WAIT) or didn't close it properly (typically resulting in a socket stuck in FIN+AF8-WAITx). There have been known issues with various browser and ftp-client apps that didn't properly close sockets. 'netstat' will show you which ports are in this state.
