RMS is running the Open Market beta and it *appears* to be almost an order of
magnitude faster than the freeware
version.  Haven't done any formal testing and don't know how that translates
into load on the system.  According to
Nicole, who did the port, the reason for the speed increase is that the OM
server pre-allocates some processes (a
configurable number) to handle requests.  The freeware version has to spawn a
process for every request--that's every
gif, everything.
