Amen, donna. You beat me to the punch!

Jim, if you want to work at Burger King after the hp3k goes away (if it does), go ahead. I'm
going to forge ahead with my *career*. I sincerely hope you were kidding with option #4.

<grrrr> i am going to try to say this as clearly as i possibly can:

just because we've spent 10-15-20+ years with mpe does NOT make us morons or the
equivalent of the village idiot! we've eaten the rest of the world's criticism
for so long that it sound like we believe it. that's wrong, wrong, wrong.

having so much work experience in the computer industry is valuable and
marketable. there may be issues of further training required for many of us but
that's not an insurmountable problem.

i know how this announcement is effecting all of us emotionally. the ranting
and raving may feel like it's helping but it's really not. it's time to
demonstrate to ourselves, our families and our companies that this is a
manageable situation. i'll say it again -- we've spent a long long time
learning how to be computer professionals -- and this is exactly when we need to
demonstrate that we are *professionals* with valuable skills and
know-how. - d
