I can certainly attest to Wirt's unbelievable staying power. He has been
accessing one of our test machines (called BitBuck for obvious reasons) and
harassing it constantly with all kinds of TCP/IP abuse. I enjoy doing a
showjob every now and then on its console and there are all kinds of Wirt
Telnet sessions going on at all times of day and night. I guess I will be
90 and I will still be amazed by what you can do with the Internet.

With this kind of enthusiasm, the HP3000 community has a wonderful future
in sight. The new HP3000 918DX developer machine will certainly help
motivate people like Wirt, who take just enough time off to take a nap
every now and then, to continue producing first-order software for a
first-order computer.

It has thrived in the mountanous and snowy environment of Sun Valley, as
accessed from the New Mexican desert -- and as re-routed through God knows
where in between :-)
