It hit one of the basic philosophical differences between liberals and
conservatives/anti-liberals.
Anti-liberals, like myself, believe that in a representative democracy
the majority dictates the direction society will develop.
Liberals believe that the minority have more right not to be offended
than the majority has to live life as they have chosen. And so liberals
run to a sympathetic judge who exceeds his constitutional authority to
issues a ruling that tells the majority that, because 1 member of a
minority is offended by their action, they cannot continue a tradition
that has been followed for 200 years or more.
The last time I checked this country has no walls keeping the
perpetually offended members of our society in. The exits are clearly
marked... have a nice day.
