Just thought I'd let everyone know that progress on FREEVT3K has been coming
along nicely. We now have a nice alpha release version available. It is usable
enough to run the POSIX shell and use 'vi' to edit files!

You can grab the latest version at

    http://www.anime.net/freevt3k/

The filename you want is 'freevt3k-latest.tar'.

It has been tested and compiles on the following platforms:

   AIX 4.1
   AlphaOSF 3.2
   AlphaVMS 6.2
   FreeBSD 2.1.0
   HP-UX 9.04 (9000/807)
   HP-UX 9.10 (9000/425)
   IRIX 5.3 (R5000)
   Linux 1.1.59, 1.3.84
   SCO 3.2
   Solaris 2.4
   SunOS 4.1.3
   VaxVMS 6.2

Note that freevt3k does not do HP terminal emulation, so if your applications
make use of HP escape codes, you will need a program that can do HP terminal
emulation for you.
