I've seen this mentioned several times on this list server, but I can't find
a place to do it in NMMGR (excuse my ignorance). I'm running a 957sx with
MPE/iX 5.5 and I wanted to know how to enable DNS on my e3000. Can anyone
point me in the right direction? I've poked around in NMMGR, but I couldn't
find anything obvious.

Stevin,

This feature is enabled by creating and adding the appropriate entries to
the RESLVCNF.NET.SYS file. One gotcha is that the search line cannot exceed
80 bytes. It ignores anything beyond 80 bytes. Not sure if this is fixed in
7.0 or 7.5? You should also create a link file called /etc/resolv.conf. You
can read all about it in the manual "Configuring and Managing MPE/iX
Internet Services (MPE/iX 7.5)" at
http://docs.hp.com/mpeix/pdf/32650-90906.pdf and look for the section called
"Configuring the DNS Resolver" in chapter 8.

Josh
