I'm not sure how much of a rebuttal this deserves. It seems obvious to say
that much has changed in the intervening years. Almost none of those
statements are still true in the way that they were. I would agree that
apprehending him is probably impossible. But so far, it seems to have been
unnecessary, and not doing so have limited his status as a martyr.

Then again, to use the same logic some use when discussing WMD: we have been
unable to find him; therefore, he never actually existed. ;-) There's only
been a series of guys who look alike, making public appearances, rather like
Santa Claus.
