With some experimentation using SYSGEN a couple of years ago and the Interex
Interact article of Jan '93 by Evan Rudderow titled "Finding a few more
terminal ports on your MPE/iX system" , I came up with the following on my
home office "big PC" HP3000/925 :-).
 1. There should be a path already for the MUX panel(9600 baud/no speed
sensing) terminal and non-spooling printer ports plus the console of
probably 4.2 (depending on the placement of the mux card internally),
ID=HP27140A.
 2. There then should be LDEV 20, ID=HP2392A, Path=4.2.0 for the console.
 3. The LDEVs 21-25 are the ports correspondingly labeled 1M-5DC. These are
usually configured as ID=HP2392A also.
 4. I believe if you change the MPESUBTYPE parameter with SYSGEN to 1 on
LDEV 21 or 22, then that port becomes a modem port.
 5. Any of the LDEV 21-25 ports can be used as terminal/non-spooling printer
ports.
 6. I believe "M" is modem and "DC" is direct connect.

Call if you have questions. Hope this helps......Paul
