Okay, another POV, maybe a little on the "devil's advocate" side...

RE: Ken's BETA version of the ad:

I like the text, but I think we're getting a little away from the
'keep it simple' idea. Someone(s?) had suggested that the ad be
kept *very* short, and the URL given therein would contain all
the 'meat' we wish to present.

To that end, take a look at this month's (August 2000) "HP World"
news magazine, on page 11. VERY simple ad: medium-sized logo
near the top of the page; "Godlike performance" quote from
InfoWorld about 1/3 down *in a big font*; an invite to see them
at HP World 2000, with the booth # at the bottom 1/3 (a good
place for a URL, as well); and the company name/URL at the bottom
of the page. VERY effective!

My take? "Hey Carly!" at the top; "HPe3000!" in a BIG font 1/4
down, with "(we'd like to let the world know about HP's best,
least-known OS!)" immediately below in a much smaller font (or
something similar) ; "XXX Fortune 500 companies know the secret,
do you?" 1/2 way down; 'http://www.e3000.org" at the bottom 1/4;
"Paid for by XXXX HPe3000 customers worldwide." at the very
bottom.

FWIW!

P.S. "The check's in the mail..."
