Joe,

The port on the back of the N-Class is a true web console.

From a control-B prompt do a "LC" to configure the lan port.

You can then telnet into it, there is a GSP reset button that you can push that will not affect a running system, if for some reason the port gets hung up.

It is also possible to set the password, and the GSP reset button will allow you to reset it, when you forget what you set it too.

What is really nice is that

1) you can have multiple people "watch" the console
2) you can now re-boot the box from home

Enjoy your Easter.

I have a question regarding secure web console. I have a port on the back of my n-class system.
Is it just a connection to a port or is there another hardware component required. I went to the following
hp website http://docs.hp.com/en/A5191-96018/ch04s04.html and it shows a small piece of hardware
that looks like the size of a jet direct card with a serial port and an rj45 port.
Is this hardware required for secure web console?

I was aware of a hardware component on earlier models of A-class but cannot remember what is required.

If there is no hardware required can someone provide me with a cheat sheet for installation?

Thanks
