Sounds like a general Streams/iX problem rather than specifically a sendmail
problem.  Streams/iX is the subsystem that handles POSIX pipes.

Do you have the latest Streams/iX patch installed for 7.0 (STRGDW2A)?  This
patch appears to mainly be addressing system abort problems, so it may not be
relevant to the problem you are experiencing.

I am not familiar with Streams/iX internals, so I recommend that you open a
Response Center call.
