Sell you Sysco on e-Bay and buy a Cisco router :-)  (Sysco is a food
supply distributor in my neck of the woods, I wouldn't believe them
capable of building a router).

But seriously, they will talk quite well to each other but you don't
provide any specifics.  What is the full data path from the 3000 to the
Cisco?  (built-in core I/O interface?  what 3000 model?  AUI, BNC, or
RJ45 connectors?  what cabling to the Cisco?  Intervening hubs,
switches, WAN links?  What Cisco model?  What media/speed/duplex?
Do you have DTCs?  Can you talk on a network but not a router?  Did you
configure the router as a [default] gateway in NMMGR?  What are the IP
addresses of the 3000 and Cisco? etc., etc.).
