I hope this isn't the beginning of another epidemic. One of my clients
just had a SCSI disc fail last Thursday night. (Halloween; maybe it was
goblins!) I don't have any details on the drive. It was on the development
computer, not one of the production machines. It was not on the
<long name> volume set, it was on the set which holds all the source
code for production programs. It failed near the beginning of backup, so
we ended up losing a whole day. The good news is that most of the MIS
department was at a class that day, so not much happened anyway.
The bad news is that your friendly neighborhood consultant was working
that day. Well, not so bad; just before I logged off, I downloaded some of
the source code I was working on to my PC, so I could print new listings.
:^) (How do you make a really big grin?)
